ColoCARE and EZ Detect are very patient friendly test kits. The insructions are easy to read and simple to follow. Patients are much more compliant with these easy to use kits. They do not require the patient to remove stool from the toilet. ColoCARE does have diet restrictions on things such as red meat. EZ Detect has no diet restrictions, therefore might be a better choice for some patients. EZ Detect contains a separate test for the water quality, whereas ColoCARE has its quality test on the same pad as the test area. ColoCARE eleminates one step with this design. Also, ColoCARE gives a test result in 30 seconds, yet with EZ Detect you must wait 2 minutes.
Hemoccult, which is mainly for professional use during yearly check-ups, is not as simple. Like ColoCARE, it has many diet restrictions prior to testing. Also, it requires the patient to remove a stool sample from the toilet and smear it on a slide. For the patient, ColoCARE or EZ Detect may be much easier to use.
