OMRON MODEL HEM-605 COMPACT WRIST BLOOD PRESSURE MONITOR: INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Prior to taking your blood pressure measurement, you should avoid eating, smoking, and exercising for at least 30 minutes. Also, stress will raise blood pressure, so avoid taking measurements at these times. Rest at least 15 minutes before taking a reading. Take the measurements in a quiet place and seated in a relaxed position, with your left arm resting on a table so that the cuff is at heart level. Remain still and do not talk during the measurement. Be sure to record measurements daily, also noting pulse and time of day.

Hold your left arm in front of you with your palm facing upward and apply the cuff so that the monitor is on the inside of your wrist with the display in easy view. The cuff's edge should be about 1/2 inch from your palm. Wrap the cuff snugly so that the top and bottom edges are tightened evenly around your wrist, then secure the cuff in place by pressing the pile material firmly against the sewn hook material. You may use a pillow to support your arm to keep the cuff at heart level during the reading.

OMRON MODEL HEM-605 COMPACT WRIST BLOOD PRESSURE MONITOR: HOW TO TAKE A READING
Press the ON/OFF button. Display symbols will appear, then disappear and the deflation indication symbol starts to flash. When the monitor completes necessary preparations, the ready to measure symbol (heart) appears next to zero. You may now press the start button. The cuff will automatically inflate to approximately 180mmHg, unless the monitor determines that you require a higher value, and will then begin to deflate automatically, with decreasing numbers appearing on the screen. The monitor exhausts residual air when the measurement is complete. The ready to measure symbol (heart) stops flashing and your blood pressure and pulse display alternatively. Wait 5-10 minutes before taking another reading to allow blood vessels to return to normal size. Record measurements.
